AI Deep(er) Dive for Educators
ISTE
Last updated September 15, 2026
AI Deep(er) Dive for Educators is ISTE+ASCD's 15-hour follow-on course, picking up where AI Deep Dive for Educators leaves off for PK-12 and higher-education teachers, instructional designers and technology coaches. Rather than introducing AI concepts, it moves into curating, creating and critically assessing AI tools for the classroom, with ethical considerations running throughout. Some prior familiarity with AI is encouraged but not required, and no coding is involved. Paid, with a member discount, and enrolled by session rather than a rolling start. It was previously sold as "Next Level AI Skills for Educators" — same course, new name.
What you'll learn

- Applying AI in ways that meaningfully support educational goals, beyond novelty use
- The ethical considerations of using AI in your own teaching and modeling that for students
- Moving from being an informed user of AI applications toward being an informed creator of them

Why we suggest this course
Most single-session AI-for-teachers courses stop at introducing tools to try. This one is explicitly built as the second course in a pair, so its full 15 hours go to judgment — which AI tools are worth adopting, how to evaluate what a model produces, and where the ethical lines sit — rather than repeating the basics. That makes it a better fit once foundational AI literacy (from AI Deep Dive for Educators or elsewhere) is already in place, rather than as a first course on the subject.
