Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 5 June 2026
This policy explains what information AI Pinnacle collects when you visit aipinnacle.org, how it is used, and the choices you have. You can read everything on this site without accounts, sign-ups, or sharing any personal details.
Who we are
AI Pinnacle (aipinnacle.org) is a curated AI-learning resource operated as a sole proprietorship based in South Africa. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), the operator of AI Pinnacle is the “controller” / “responsible party” for any personal information processed through this site, and acts as its Information Officer under POPIA.
You can reach us about anything in this policy, or to exercise your rights, at contact@aipinnacle.org.
What information we collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and the site itself does not collect names, email addresses, or payment details, because it offers none of those features — other than any details you choose to put in an email to us (see below). The information that may be processed is:
- Analytics data (only if you opt in). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site — such as the pages you view, roughly how long you stay, your approximate location (estimated from your IP address), and basic device and browser details. We use this only to understand which content is useful and to improve the site.
- Server and security logs. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records standard technical information (such as IP addresses and requested pages) to deliver the site reliably and to protect it against abuse. This is not used to identify or profile you.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us at contact@aipinnacle.org, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and use it only to respond to you. These emails are routed via Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to a mailbox hosted by Google (Gmail), and we keep them only as long as needed to deal with your request.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it except as needed to provide the services described below.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website can store in your browser. AI Pinnacle uses as few as possible, and we do not set any analytics cookies until you choose “Accept” — decline, and none are placed.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another. | 2 years |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Maintains analytics session state. | 2 years |
| aip-cookie-consent(local storage, not a cookie) | AI Pinnacle | Remembers your cookie choice — and the version of our cookie use it applied to — so you are not asked again unless that use changes. Stored locally in your browser, not sent to any server. | Until cleared |
You can change your mind at any time using the control (also in the footer of every page). Declining stops Google Analytics and clears its cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Legal basis for processing
Where GDPR applies, we rely on your consent for analytics cookies (which you give by accepting, and can withdraw at any time), and on our legitimate interests in running a secure, reliable website for the standard server logs described above. Where POPIA applies, processing is carried out lawfully on equivalent grounds.
Third parties and international transfers
If you opt in to analytics, your analytics data is processed by Google as our analytics provider. Google may process this information on servers outside South Africa and the European Economic Area. Google describes how it handles this data in its Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Other providers help us run the site and may process limited data outside South Africa and the European Economic Area: our hosting provider Vercel serves the site and keeps technical logs, while emails you send us are handled by Cloudflare (email routing) and Google (the Gmail mailbox they are delivered to). Each provides its services under its own privacy terms.
The site also links out to third-party tools and courses. When you follow an external link, that destination's own privacy policy applies — we are not responsible for the content or practices of other websites.
Your rights
Under POPIA and, where it applies, the GDPR, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because we do not collect names or contact details, in most cases the simplest way to stop all optional processing is to decline analytics cookies.
To make a request, email us at contact@aipinnacle.org. If you are in South Africa and believe we have not handled your information properly, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa). If you are in the EU or UK, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
Data retention
We do not store personal data in any database of our own. Any analytics data is retained by Google according to the retention period we set in Google Analytics; see Google's policy for details. Server logs held by our hosting provider (Vercel) are kept only as long as needed for reliability and security. Emails you send us are kept in our mailbox only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable record afterwards, then deleted.
Children's privacy
AI Pinnacle is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “Last updated” date above always shows the current version. If we change how we use cookies or tracking in a way that needs your consent, we'll ask you to review your cookie choice again.
