Empower your workforce with Microsoft Copilot: IT
Microsoft Learn
Last updated October 6, 2026
Empower your workforce with Microsoft Copilot: IT is a free Microsoft Learn module on two parts of an IT team's work: planning an internal project, and getting staff to adopt new Microsoft 365 features. The first exercise defines a project framework with Copilot, maps project risks in Whiteboard and turns the plan into an executive presentation in PowerPoint. The second finds upcoming Microsoft 365 features with Copilot Chat, drafts a post about them in Viva Engage, creates best-practice tips, designs a feedback survey in Forms, and uses the Analyst agent to analyze sample survey results and recommend ways to improve adoption. It is part of Microsoft's Empower your workforce with Microsoft Copilot learning path and ends with its own assessment. The exercises are done in your own Microsoft 365 environment. Some tasks need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, and which agent features are available depends on the licenses and admin settings in place.

Why we suggest this course
It suits an IT team that is responsible for getting staff to use new tools. The second exercise walks through an adoption cycle: find out which features are coming, draft a post about them in a test community, create tips, design a feedback survey, and analyze sample survey results with the Analyst agent to decide what to do next. The first exercise is a compact project-planning run, from framework to risk map to executive presentation. One thing to know: despite the IT label, it does not cover deploying, configuring or securing Copilot; an administrator who needs that should look for administration training instead.
