Empower your workforce with Microsoft Copilot: Finance
Microsoft Learn
Last updated October 6, 2026
Empower your workforce with Microsoft Copilot: Finance is a free Microsoft Learn module that applies Copilot to cost analysis, acquisition modeling and contract review. The first exercise analyzes cost of goods sold estimates for a new product line in Excel, summarizes financial reporting discussions in Teams and picks out the actions, assesses a potential acquisition in Copilot Chat and models what-if scenarios back in Excel. The second evaluates vendor contracts in Copilot Chat, creates an executive presentation of the findings in PowerPoint, turns the recommendations into shared actions in Loop, and drafts an email in Outlook asking stakeholders for feedback. It is part of Microsoft's Empower your workforce with Microsoft Copilot learning path and ends with its own assessment. The exercises are done in your own Microsoft 365 environment. Some tasks need a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, and which Copilot features are available depends on the licenses and admin settings in place.

Why we suggest this course
Every task runs in Copilot Chat or the Copilot built into Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Loop and Outlook, with no agents, so it does not depend on which agent features are switched on. The two Excel tasks are the longest: costing a new product line and running what-if scenarios on an acquisition. One thing to know: it practices analysis and communication, not accounting standards or controls, so the professional review of any number Copilot produces stays with you.
