AI Fluency for Students is a free video course from Anthropic that takes its general framework for working well with AI and applies it squarely to student life. It's built on the four habits known as the 4D framework — Delegation (deciding what's yours to do and what AI can help with), Description (telling the AI clearly what you actually need), Discernment (judging whether what comes back is good, true, and yours to use), and Diligence (taking responsibility for how you use AI and for the work you hand in). The course puts those to work in two areas, learning and career planning: setting up an AI learning partner and a learning journal, telling the difference between using AI to learn and using it to do the work for you, exploring careers, improving a CV or resume, practicing for interviews, and writing your own policy for how you will work with AI. The examples use Claude.ai because Anthropic makes the course, but the habits transfer to any chatbot. It lightly recaps the four Ds, but assumes you've met them before: Anthropic recommends the foundational course, AI Fluency: Framework & Foundations, first.
