Building effective human-agent teams (beta)

Last updated October 13, 2026
Building effective human-agent teams (beta) is a free, short course from Anthropic for team leads who want their team to move from single-player AI, where each person uses an assistant for their own tasks, to multiplayer AI, where one shared agent works with the whole team. No technical background is needed. The course follows a team through that shift and shows what changes: how a shared agent differs from a traditional chatbot, which team norms help it contribute, and four principles for a healthy human-agent team — clear roles, a written north star (a shared goal the team writes down), gradual release of responsibility to the agent, and the right information access. One lesson includes a simulation of a product launch week in which you assign each job to people, to Claude with a person making the final call, or to Claude alone, and see how each day turns out. It closes with a checklist for judging whether your organization is ready and practical ways to begin. It takes about 45 minutes across five lessons and ends with a quiz that earns a completion badge.
